Summer camp for reading and math will be happening at Pleasant Valley Elementary Center in Kresgeville from Tuesday through Thursday next week and from Monday through Thursday the rest of the month.Queen deadlineThe West End Fair has announced the second annual Fair Queen Scholarship Program. The winner will receive a $500 scholarship. Participants will be judged on a 300-word essay: What My Fair Means to My Community, personal interview, and speech pertaining to the essay.This program is open to all Monroe County females between the ages of 16 to 20. It is a great opportunity for girls to get involved with their community, help with money for college, and help them be better individuals.The coronation ceremony will be held at 4
p.m.Aug. 21 on the Main Stage. Visit thewestendfair.com website for rules and an application form.The deadline to enter is July 10.Chestnuthill supersThe Chestnuthill Township Board of Supervisors will meet 7 p.m. Tuesday at the municipal building in Brodheadsville.Blood driveOur Lady Queen of Peace Church in Gilbert will host an American Red Cross blood drive from 1-6 p.m. July 19.Donations are being accepted for blood and double red cells.Cornerstone VBSDeep Sea Discovery is the theme for the Vacation Bible School being held Cornerstone Community Church in Kresgeville from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. July 10-14. The finale starring the children will be at 7:30 p.m. July 15. The program is for ages 4 to entering sixth grade in the fall. Register online at

From Route 209 in Kresgeville, turn north at the light onto Burger Hollow Road, and turn left onto Polk Township Road.Smart Driver courseAn AARP Smart Driver course will be offered at the Chestnuthill Park Building in Brodheadsville beginning at 1 p.m. July 16 and July 23. This is the eight-hour course held on two separate days. It is for qualified drivers aged 50 and older.
