A Northampton County woman admitted her part in the theft of a credit card. She was one of five defendants in pending cases to enter a guilty plea on Monday in Carbon County court.

President Judge Roger N. Nanovic II presided:Destiny Lynn Hill, 25, of Easton, pleaded to one count of criminal conspiracy-theft. She admitted her involvement in the theft of a credit card and then attempting to use it at two locations in the county for a total of four times. A video surveillance camera at the Walmart store in Mahoning Township, one of the places the card was presented for use, was used to identify Hill.Hill admitted to a serious drug addiction problem and is currently in a program in Easton, where she lives in a home for drug addicts.Nanovic placed her on probation for 18 months and ordered zero tolerance on drug use.Troy Darren Dubois, 44, of Palmerton, pleaded to one count of harassment.He was charged by Palmerton police with harassing his ex-wifeby sending text messages and calling her numerous times.He admitted to a history of mental health issues and has been hospitalized numerous times over the years.Nanovic placed him on probation for a year and ordered he get a mental health evaluation and follow any recommendations for treatment.Ronald Lee Strohl, 62, of Palmerton pleaded to one count of simple assault.He was arrested by Palmerton police for an incident at his residence along Lafayette Avenue on Feb. 7. He got into an altercation with the daughter of his live-in girlfriend.Nanovic placed him on probation for a year and ordered he get a drug and alcohol evaluation (which he already completed, it was noted), and have no contact the victim.Jonathan C. Turner, 31, of Lehighton, pleaded to one count of furnishing drug-free urine-use or attempt.He was charged by Jim Thorpe police for an incident on Jan. 6 at the adult probation office in the courthouse. He was there for a drug screen and attempted to furnish a false sample.Nanovic sentenced him to serve one to 12 months in prison and zero tolerance for drug and alcohol use. Turner is currently an inmate in the county prison serving a six-month term for a probation violation.Shelly Marie Shook, 51, of Slatington, pleaded to one count of possession of drug paraphernalia.She was arrested on Dec. 11, 2015, in the 600 block of Lehigh Avenue near Sixth Street by Palmerton police. Police responded to the area to a report of a suspicious vehicle. On scene officers found the vehicle in question and Shook as a passenger. Through the investigation she was found to be in possession of a pipe used for smoking marijuana.Nanovic placed her on probation for six months and ordered she get a drug and alcohol evaluation and follow any recommendations for treatment.Each defendant must also pay court costs of about $1,000 and a $50 per month supervision fee while in probation or parole.
