Barron (Boots) Hetherington, special adviser to the governor who works for the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture and is thefair funds administrator, presented a Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture Outstanding Fair Ambassador award to Dorothy Davidson, a West End Fair director from Polk Township. He said she had the qualities that describes their 2014 Fair Ambassador because she was frugal, hardworking, conscientious and caring. "She worksendlessly for the fair. If you look for her, you will find her on the grounds, not only fair week, but during the entire year ... wee days, weekends, holidays ... it doesn't matter. If a job needs to be done, she will be here," Hetherington said. Davidson has been involved with the fair for over 35 years, has been a director for seven years, and is a member of many fair committees, including committee chairwoman of the West End Fair Museum since 2009. When asked if she wanted to say something, she humbly said, "I'm speechless."
