Two men attempted to rob a branch bank office in Penn Forest Township Tuesday, but their attempt was foiled by the bank's security system.

State police at Lehighton said the two males approached the Jim Thorpe Neighborhood Bank branch along Route 903 about 12:20 p.m. wearing black hooded sweatshirts, with the hoods up, and blue jeans.As they entered the first door, the bank's metal detectors were activated.The secondary door was locked, which prevented them from entering the bank.The two ran away.Anyone with information concerning this incident is asked to call troopers at 610-681-1850.
