Carbon County officials remind residents that a recent suspension of some of Carbon County Community Transit services does not mean they can’t go to their dialysis or doctors appointments.
Last week, LANTA, the bus company that operates the Lynx fixed route and shared ride programs for Carbon, suspended only the Lynx fixed routes at this time due to the pandemic.
The reason for the temporary suspension of the fixed route service was to reduce contact with individuals as part of social distancing measures.
Commissioners’ Chairman Wayne Nothstein said that a rumor was circulating that this meant patients couldn’t get to their dialysis appointments, and that is not true.
According to the Carbon transit website, the shared ride program is continuing to operate daily, but is asking the patrons who utilize the program to restrict trips to just work, dialysis, medical or pharmacy or grocery shopping at this time.
