Summit Hill

Legion members honored

Five members of the Davis-Lawton-Yurko-Breslin-Bevich American Legion Post 316 in Summit Hill have been recognized by the National American Legion for continuous membership to that organization.

They include Thomas J. Gallagher, who was recognized for 60 years of continuous service, and Robert G. Davis, Bill Evans, Michael Melley and Robert A. Wehr, whose 50 years of continuous service were acknowledged.

Commander W. Kevin O’Donnell of Post 316 said the national organization forwarded certificates to Post 316 under the signature of National Commander Brett Reistad, and that Summit Hill officials delivered the awards to the five veterans.

The practice, he said, has been in place for several years and calls attention to membership in the American Legion organization.
