The distribution of Gideon Bibles outside the Lehighton Middle School was offensive to come parents, prompting a complaint to the American Civil Liberties Union in Philadelphia.

Dennis Serfass, principal at the middle school, confirmed the Bibles were being distributed at the school entrances.Alan Predmore, 285 Nis Hollow Drive, Lehighton, who has two daughters at the school, said the Bibles were being distributed to students after they exited the bus. Predmore said he called the ACLU and also notified Dr. Robert Klucharich, superintendent of schools.
