Monroe men, teen are charged in drug case
Two Monroe County men and one teenager face charges of possession with intent to deliver marijuana and delivery of marijuana.
The incident occurred on April 10 at 186 Stillwater Drive in Pocono Summit, according to Chris Wagner, chief of police for the Pocono Mountain Regional Police Department. While executing a search warrant for sex assault related crimes against Jordan Hardy, 19, of Pocono Summit, officers saw a gold Mercedes-Benz arriving at the home and the occupant meeting with Hardy's 15-year-old brother in the driveway.Officers realized the juvenile had just sold marijuana to the occupant of the Mercedes in the driveway.Police recovered the marijuana sold to the occupant of the Mercedes-Benz and the money used in the purchased in the pocket of the juvenile, who was immediately arrested.A search of the home of Hardy, his juvenile brother, and their father, identified as Michael Boomer, 54, revealed significant evidence of drug dealing, specifically marijuana trafficking.Marijuana packaging materials were located in almost every room in the home.Bulk quantities of marijuana, prepackaged smaller quantities of marijuana broken down into sizes sold on the street, and labels with cost attached were located in the possession of all three.Boomer's room also contained a larger quantity of packaging materials including sleeves of Apple-style baggies (100 counts) used to package dime-size baggies of marijuana, a digital scale, and a large Nike shopping bag, which was used to transport bulk quantities of marijuana.Additionally, $1,280 was found in Boomer's room in denominations consistent with the marijuana sales evidenced in the home.Officers identified a drug-dealing business where Boomer and his kids sold marijuana throughout the area as a team.Evidence also identified several customers, that Boomer was in charge of the organization, and that his sons were selling marijuana for him because he was out of work. The teen was held in juvenile detention until he was released to another family member pending his future court appearances in Monroe County.Hardy was already being held in Monroe County Correctional Facility on his sex crimes-related bail, but was also arraigned on new drug dealing related offenses where he received an additional bail amount of $50,000.Boomer was also charged, and bail was set at $25,000 pending further court appearances.Hardy and the juvenile face charges of PWID controlled substances, criminal conspiracy, criminal use of a communication device, possessing instruments of crime, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.Boomer faces charges of PWID controlled substance, criminal conspiracy, endangering the welfare of children, corruption of minors, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.Pending charges include possession of marijuana for the male identified buying marijuana at the time of the search warrant execution.Preliminary hearings were set for 10 a.m. today before District Justice Richard Claypool.
