CARBON COUNTY COURT DUI PLEAS

Defendants who pleaded to DUI before Judge Joseph J. Matika in Carbon County Court included:

Alan Shelton Pugh Jr., 36, of Lansford, was arrested on Feb. 26 by Lansford police along Route 209 after being involved in a crash. A test showed 0.18 BAC.Matika rejected a plea agreement in which the district attorney's office was dropping the fact that there was an accident. The difference in the law is that without the accident the mandatory minimum is six months probation, a $300 fine and no license suspension. With the crash, there is a two day jail term plus other enhanced penalties. Pugh agreed to continue with his plea based on the accident being included.Matika then sentenced him to serve 48 hours to six months in jail, a fine of $500, one-year license suspension and render 25 hours of community service.John M. Przewoznik, 36, of Lansford, was arrested on Oct. 13, 2013, by Nesquehoning police along Route 209. A test showed 0.23 BAC.Sentencing was deferred so Przewoznik could obtain a D&A evaluation.Amanda J. Dezolt, 30, of Weatherly, was arrested on Dec. 11, 2014, by Nesquehoning police along Route 93. A test showed the presence of a controlled substance.Sentencing was deferred so she could obtain a D&A evaluation and apply for the county IPP.Jason Edward Bianco, 26, of Nesquehoning, was arrested on Dec. 3, 2014, along Route 54 by Nesquehoning police. A test showed 0.16 BAC.Sentencing was deferred so he could apply for the IPP.Kelvin Shamel Williams, 43, of Hillside, New Jersey, was arrested on Feb. 4 along Route 209 by Lansford police. He refused a test and will lose his license for a year for the refusal.Sentencing was deferred so he could obtain a D&A evaluation.Nicole Marie Skipper, 39, of Mohnton, Berks County, was arrested on March 12 along Route 940 by Kidder Township police. She refused a blood test and will lose her license for a year for the refusal.Sentencing was deferred so she could obtain D&A evaluation and apply for the IPP.Matthew Bernard Hiles, 31, of Tamaqua, was arrested on April 5 along Hazard Street by Summit Hill police. A test showed 0.10 BAC.Sentencing was deferred so he could apply for the IPP.Dennis Paul Boileau, 47, of Albrightsville, was arrested on Oct. 25, 2014, at routes 903 and 534 by Kidder Township police. A test showed 0.23 BAC.Sentencing was deferred so he could obtain a D&A evaluation.Aaron Joseph Zink, 34, of York, was arrested on Aug. 26, 2014, along Main Street by Weatherly police. A test showed the presence of a controlled substance.Sentencing was deferred so Zink could obtain a D&A evaluation and apply for the IPP.Each defendant sentenced must also pay court costs of about $1,000, and a $50 per month supervision fee while on probation or parole.
