Slatington BoroughFour candidates ran unopposed for four-year terms on borough council.Republican Gwyneth A. Neff was the top vote-getter with 92 votes, followed by Republican Bob Steets, 88, Republican David R. Schnaars, 82, and Republican Joseph Wechsler, 79.Wechsler ran unopposed for the two-year term, and garnered 82 votes.Republican Reta M. Stein ran unopposed for the borough's tax collector position, two-year term, and received 105 votes.No candidate appeared on the ballot for a six-year term as constable.Walnutport BoroughThree candidates ran unopposed for four-year terms on borough council.Democrat Michael Gaston received 37 votes, while Democrat David Stankovic received 29.On the Republican side Matthew Newhard received 32 votes.Washington TownshipRepublican Gerald Phillips ran unopposed for a six-year term on the township's board of supervisors and received 229 votes.For constable, Republican Vincent Stahl ran unopposed for a six-year term and received 208 votes.No candidate appeared on the ballot for a six-year term as auditor.Northern Lehigh school boardAll five incumbents seeking reelection to their respective positions ran unopposed.All candidates cross-filed for four-year terms.In Lehigh County, Robin Distler was the top vote-getter on the Democratic side with 177 votes, followed by Raymond Follweiler, 173, Donna Kulp, 172, Edward Hartman, 159, and Mathias Green, 159.On the Republican side, Distler received 305 votes, Follweiler 302, Kulp, 285, Hartman 281, and Green 253.Over in Northampton County, Distler was again the top vote-getter on the Democratic side, with 26 votes, followed by Kulp, 24, Follweiler, 20, Green, 19, and Hartman, 18.On the Republican side, Follweiler received 30 votes, Distler, 29, Hartman, 29, Kulp, 27, and Green, 27.The district includes the boroughs of Slatington and Walnutport, and Washington Township.
