A look back: March 18, 1993

Calling on students to be “the generation that leads, votes, creates and makes the right decisions,” Pennsylvania’s first lady Ellen Casey yesterday urged students to “live for others.”

Her remarks promoting public service were part of the 1993 induction ceremony for 23 new members of the Robert F. Kennedy Chapter of the National Honor Society at Marian Catholic High School in Hometown.

She told an audience of 500 that parents, teachers and administrators at the school are there to help the students “as they lead us into the future with a deep personal commitment to make the world a better place and to reach out to help those who need our help.”
