Lehigh Carbon Community College is offering an accelerated Emergency Medical Technician program for students to obtain their Department of Health certification. Classes will be held Monday through Friday, July 1-31, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., at the George E. Moerkirk Emergency Medicine Institute of LVHN, 2166 S. 12th St. in Allentown.
Students learn about didactic presentation, skill demonstration and hands-on practical skills, Hazmat Awareness requirements and CPR instruction, and testing for the practical portion of CPR.Prerequirements include successful completion of National Incident Management System online training NIMS 100 and 700. A physician release form and proof of health insurance is also required.
