Lehigh County District Attorney Jim Martin has appointed Tony Alvarez as assistant district attorney in Lehigh County.

Alvarez received his Juris Doctorate in May 2016 from Drexel University’s Thomas R. Kline School of Law. He graduated from the State University of New York-The College of Oneonta in 2006 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. Alvarez, a native of Bethlehem, is a graduate of Liberty High School.

Alvarez was a judicial intern for the Honorable Charles J. Cunningham III of the Court of Common Pleas in Philadelphia during the summer of 2014. During the following summer, he was a Certified Legal Intern in the Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office.

From August 2015 to December 2015, Alvarez served as a CLI and co-op student with the Office of the Philadelphia County District Attorney. He became an assistant district attorney with that office in November 2016, working in the major trials division.
