State police at Belfast released details on a four-vehicle pileup at 2:27 p.m. Sept. 18 on Interstate 78 in Lower Saucon Township.
They said the pileup occurred when Steven T. Oravetz, 62, of Oxford, New Jersey, was driving a 2014 Ford F-250 that struck the back of a 2024 Nissan Rogue operated by Aaron W. Shields, 21, of Easton.
The impact, police said, resulted in the Rogue hitting a 2016 GMC Sierra driven by Steven R. Tucker II, 37, of Easton, and the Sierra then hitting a 2016 Mercedes-Benz GL450 operated by Paul D. Ficarra, 64, of Glenmore.
Police said Shields was transported to an area hospital. A passenger with Ficarra, Zachary S. Peiser, 28, of Weatherly, was uninjured, police said.
The Ford and Nissan were towed from the scene.
Oravetz was cited for failure to drive at a safe speed, according to police.
