Marian High School plans scholarship Mass

Marian Catholic High School will celebrate the generosity of those who make a Marian education possible for students through scholarship assistance at a scholarship Mass and reception on Oct 14.

Registration and guest arrival begins at 8:45 a.m., followed by Mass at 9:15 a.m. A reception will immediately follow.

The annual gathering provides the school with an opportunity to express its gratitude to the many benefactors whose generosity provides scholarship and tuition assistance to students.

Honorees include donors who support students through their participation in Pennsylvania’s Educational Improvement Tax Credit program, benefactors who provide annual scholarship support directly to Marian and the individuals and families whose generosity has established nine endowed scholarships that will provide assistance to Marian students in perpetuity.

Scholarship benefactors will be able to meet the Marian students who directly benefit from their generosity.

“Scholarship support is about so much more than financial assistance — it is about opening doors of opportunity for young people and their families,” said the Rev. Robert Finlan, school principal. “This Mass gives us the opportunity to come together as a community of faith and say thank you to the generous people who believe in our students and in the mission of Marian Catholic. It is especially meaningful for our benefactors to meet the young people whose lives they are directly impacting.”

Scholarship assistance remains an important part of Marian Catholic’s commitment to ensuring that families who desire a Catholic education have the opportunity to choose Marian for their children.

Following Mass, benefactors and scholarship recipients will gather for a reception, providing students with the opportunity to personally thank those who have invested in their education and allowing donors to see firsthand the impact of their generosity.

Scholarship benefactors planning to attend are asked to contact Dr. Erin Marek, director of advancement, at emarek@mariancatholichs.org or by calling 570-467-3335, extension 115.
