State police at the Pocono barracks reported the following crashes that occurred on the Northeast Extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike:

• Five vehicles were damaged in a pileup at 1:12 p.m. Sept. 7 at mile marker 75.6 in Franklin Township.

Police said it occurred when a 2023 Nissan Rogue driven by Lydia J. Moore, 55, of Dallas, struck the back of a 2020 Hyundai Palisade operated by John A. Geiger, 62, of Downingtown, which then struck a 2026 Hyundai Santa Fe operated by Sally K. Castrianni, 35, of Glenside.

Police said a 2024 Chrysler Pacifica driven by Sergi Borisenko, 42, of Vineland, New Jersey, slowed down in front of the pileup and was struck by a 2001 GMC Sierra driven by Jake H. Moffitt, 28, of Downingtown, after which the Pacifica hit the Rogue.

There were several passengers in some of the vehicles. One of them, Daria Borisenko, 41, also of Vineland, New Jersey, had possible injuries but did not require an emergency medical services transport, police said.

Police said Stephen J. McFadden, 57, of Dushore, was driving a 2013 Nissan Altima northbound when it ran over the ratchet, after which the ratchet hit the windshield of a 2025 Toyota RAV4 driven by Gregory H. Enders, 69, of Villanova, leaving a large hole in the windshield.

Police said both vehicles came to rest safe on the right berm. A local towing service assisted police at the scene.
