The Pennsylvania State Police, Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement, has cited a Carbon County business for violating the state’s liquor laws.
Kyvi Inc./Griff’s Ale Haus & Grille, Lehighton, was cited for selling alcoholic beverages during the period of June 28 through Aug. 17 after its health permit or license expired on June 27. It had not been renewed and/or validated, according to police.
The charge will be brought before an administrative law judge, who has the authority to impose a penalty ranging from $50 to $1,000 for minor offenses, and up to $5,000 for more serious offenses. In addition, the judge can also impose a license suspension or revocation of the licensee based on the severity of the charge, and can also mandate training to educate the license holder on the requirements of being a licensee.
