September 30, 1967 — Jim Thorpe’s defense limits Pocono Mountain to just 80 yards of offense and receives touchdowns from Joe Lazorick and Dan Skrimcovsky to gain a 14-0 victory. The Olympians break a scoreless tie in the second quarter when Lazorick gets in the open field for a 65-yard scoring run and Mike Slivka adds the extra point. The winners add some insurance in the final frame thanks to Steve Susko’s 26-yard TD pass to Skrimcovsky and Slivka’s second PAT. That scoring drive is set up by a fumble recovery from Glen Andrews. Thorpe also receives a fumble recovery on defense from Susko.
