Schuylkill County is doing well financially, county Treasurer Linda L. Yeich told commissioners on Wednesday.

As of August, the county had collected $1,320,389 in real estate tax revenue; $44,838 in funded debt tax; and $12,606 in per capital taxes.

It also collected $511 in county fees for dog licenses, with $4,336 from the state; $305 in hunting license fees, with $2,168 from the state; $330 in bingo license fees; and $3,850 from issuing small games of chance licenses.

Other revenue included $48,510 from district magistrate fees; $4,177 in commissions; and $98,461 from the hotel tax.

Overall, the monthly cash totals for August started with a beginning balance of $96,893,827 and ended with $103,542,086.

In other matters Wednesday, the salary board approved a promotion to full time from part time for corrections officer Brian Dugan. He’ll earn $26.45 an hour.

Wendi Griffith was appointed first deputy in the Register of Wills office. She’ll earn $46,486 annually.
