Purse/cash bingo

A designer purse and cash bingo will be held Oct. 4 at Zion Stone Church in Snyders. Doors open at noon and bingo starts at 1 p.m. Advance tickets are available for a discount. No one under 14 allowed. There is limited seating. Call 570-952-4689 for advance tickets. There will also be a basket raffle and other raffles.

St. Peter’s - West Penn

The 9 a.m. Sunday service at St. Peter’s in West Penn will be Harvest Home and will have a Joyous Noise offering. Sunday school teachers and officers will be installed. At 10:15 a.m. there will be Sunday school “sundae” Sunday. The confirmation meeting is at 10:30 a.m. Sunday.

WASP meets at 7 p.m. Tuesday, and at 11 a.m. Sept. 17, there will be a “Hope in the Middle” podcast on Facebook.

The fall fest will be held from 4-8 p.m. Sept. 18 and noon to 6 p.m. on Sept. 19.

Tamaqua Seniors

The Tamaqua Senior Citizens met on Sept. 3 with 24 members present.

President Jean Machamer opened the meeting with the invocation, “My Lord is Always Faithful” recited by one member.

Four members are celebrating birthdays. The group welcomed back a member.

Refreshments were served. Snacks and drinks were provided.

The meeting closed and bingo was played.

The group meets at 1 p.m. Thursdays at the Coaldale Complex. Anyone 55 and older is invited.

Zion Lewistown

Pastor Jim Williams will officiate the 10:30 a.m. Sunday service at Zion Church in Lewistown Valley. The Children’s and Adult’s Sunday schools are scheduled for 9:30 a.m.

Eileen Williams will lead a five-week Women’s Bible Study during the 9:30 Sunday school hour at Memorial Hall.

Rush-Ryan-Delano Seniors

The Rush, Ryan and Delano Senior Citizens met on Aug. 25 with 29 members present.

President Jayne McLaughlin opened the meeting with the Lord’s Prayer, Pledge of Allegiance and singing of “God Bless America.”

The group welcomed back one member. The meeting closed, bingo was played and refreshments were served.

The group also met on Sept. 8 with 32 members. The invocation, “Home,” was read.

Five members are celebrating September birthdays. A member won a fall wreath that was chanced off, and candy was also chanced off. Officers donated food.

The meeting closed, bingo was played and refreshments were served.

The next meeting is at 1 p.m. Sept. 22 at Christ Church in Barnesville.

Calvary Lewistown

Calvary Evangelical Church, 824 Catawissa Road, Tamaqua, will have a grandparents day celebration on Sunday. The worship service is at 11 a.m. with the sermon by the Rev. Debra Rogers. The special music will be presented by Lindsay (Heisler) Schegan. Sunday school for all ages is at 9:45 a.m. and the evening care and share service is at 6:30 p.m. Sunday. Children are always recognized at the services and are encouraged to attend.

On Wednesday, Bible and prayer time for all ages will be held at 7 p.m. All are welcome to all services.

Fall festival

A fall festival featuring a trunk or treat and a craft fair will be held from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 17 at West Penn Park, 655 Zion’s Stone Church Road, New Ringgold.

There will be food to purchase, games, candy apple making, pumpkin decorating, 50/50 chances and candy jar guesses. Township fire, police and ambulance companies will be on hand.

Vendors will set up between 10 and 11 a.m., and vehicles arrive at noon to set up for the 1-3 p.m. trunk or treat.
