Steven Klotz of Lehighton R. 1 will be appearing on the Jerry Lewis Labor Day Telethon to present a check for $10,000 to Lewis.
The money was raised last March in a dance marathon in which seven schools, Panther Valley, Mahanoy Area, Nativity, Tamaqua Area, Schuylkill Haven, Pottsville Area and Marian Catholic competed against one another to raise funds for the benefit of the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
Marian, which raised almost $3,000 by itself, won the event and therefore was allowed to send a representative to Las Vegas to present the check live to Lewis on the telethon.
Klotz is a 1976 graduate of Marian and has since enlisted in the U.S. Army and is presently stationed at Fort Monmouth, New Jersey.
