Employees of Creative Industries, Inc., first plant in the Green Acres Industrial Park, Hauto Valley, voted yesterday for an open rather than closed shop.
In an election supervised by Draper Lewis of the National Labor Relations Board the workers voted 92 to 33 in favor of this question: “Do you wish to withdraw the authority of your bargaining representative to require, under its agreement with the employer, that membership in the union be a condition of employment?”
The balloting was held in the basement of the American Legion Home in Nesquehoning. The interested parties were represented by Mrs. Martha Zeigler for Creative Industries; James Narcisso for the Uited Textile Workers of America; and Adam Tenesci of Coaldale, for himself.
