Monroe County departments
The Monroe County commissioners approved the following items for these county departments:
• Area Agency on Aging — Contract with Gretchen Weitzmann Esq. to provide legal assistance and advice for protective service and guardianship clients, represents the Monroe County Area Agency on Aging in court, as necessary, from Aug. 1 to July 31, 2029, for $150 per hour with a maximum of $10,000 for contract term.
• Children and Youth Services — Purchase of Service Agreements, from July 1 to June 30, 2027, with Diakon Child, Family and Community Ministries, contract limit of $75,000 for foster care; KidsPeace Children’s Hospital, contract limit of $150,000 for sexual issues treatment and education services; Metta Place Youth Home LLC, contract limit of $200,000 for group homes; Professional Services agreement with Children’s Advocacy Center of Monroe County, from July 1 to June 30, 2028, contract limit of $35,000 for forensic evaluations.
• Monroe County Correctional Facility — Ratify authorization for Eugene Ruddy, warden, to sign agreement with Information Equity Initiative Inc. to provide educational digital content using digital television broadcast signals, from July 1 to June 30, 2027, cost of $32,000, to be paid from the Inmate Welfare account.
• Fiscal/Grants — 2026-27 Hazardous Materials Response Fund Grant, $5,267, from July 1 to June 30, 2027; correct the grant period for the Medication Assisted Substance Abuse Treatment Grant Program Application to July 1 to June 30, 2028; submit the Fiscal Year 2026 Election Integrity Grant Program application from July 1 to June 30, 2027, in the amount of $587,835.52 to provide financial support for county elections administration for staff, ballots, canvassing, transportation and list maintenance; submit the 2026-27 Human Services Plan for the Homeless Assistance Program and the Human Services Development Fund.
• Information Technology and Services — Change order with Ring Central Inc. adding 18 ATA analog telephone adapters, $1,710.
• Transportation Authority — Reappoint to the board of directors, new term to expire Sept. 30, 2031: Robert Huffman, Eric Koopman and Mary Claire Megargle; reappoint Robert Bryant to the board of directors, new term to expire Sept. 30, 2030; approve the 2025-26 Medical Assistance Transportation Program fourth quarter report, $114,880.80.
