A 21-year-old woman from Bath died in a three-vehicle crash at about 11:39 a.m. Monday at the intersection of Airport Road and Race Street in Hanover Township, Lehigh County.
The county’s coroner, Daniel A. Buglio, said the woman was pronounced dead at 12:53 p.m. in the emergency department of the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Muhlenberg Campus, Bethlehem.
Buglio said the woman’s name is being withheld out of respect for the family and to allow them time to grieve privately.
State police at the Bethlehem barracks said a trooper came upon the crash while on routine patrol and determined the crash involved a 2004 Subaru Forester operated by the deceased, a 2021 Freightliner Cascadia that had been driven by a 42-year-old man from Nazareth and a 2025 Ford Explorer, driven by a 63-year-old man from Pottsville.
Police said the crash remains under investigation by its patrol unit, which is being assisted by a Troop M Collision Analysis Reconstruction Specialist Unit (C.A.R.S.), Troop M Forensic Services Unit, Troop M Motor Carrier Safety Assistance Program (M.C.S.A.P.), Catasauqua Fire Department, Northampton Borough Fire Department, Hanover Township – Lehigh County Fire Department, PENNDOT, Lehigh Valley International Airport Police and Northampton Regional EMS.
Police said the crash scene was cleared at 2:30 p.m. During the preliminary investigation, all traffic was detoured at Airport Road and Grove Road and Airport Road and Schoenersville Road.
