Charnega tosses a three-hitter, walks three and strikes out 14. The winning hurler helps his own cause at the plate, finishing 3-for-4 and scoring a run. Tommy Bretzik also contributes offensively with three hits and three runs, while Johnny Feddock chips in with a hit and a run. For Lansford, Johnny Vanek bangs out a double, and Pete Shears and Johnny Halko both collect a hit and a run.
