State police at Fogelsville - crashes

State police at the Fogelsville barracks reported the following crashes:

• Michael L. Deeney, 38, of New Tripoli, was injured in a two-vehicle crash at 7:50 a.m. July 14 on Route 100 in Lowhill Township.

Police said he was transported by personnel from the Cetronia Ambulance Corps to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest Campus, Salisbury Township.

Police said the crash occurred when he was driving a 2019 Nissan Sentra southbound when he failed to stop in time for a stationary 2019 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Dwayne E. Hacker, 59, of Tuscarora. They said the Sentra struck the passenger side rear bumper of the Silverado.

The Sentra had disabling damages while the Silverado had minor damages.

Police said Deeney was cited for failure to drive at a safe speed.

• Two Andreas men were uninjured in a two-vehicle mishap at 9:46 a.m. July 6 on Route 100 in Upper Macungie Township.

Police said the incident happened when John F. Savage, 64, was driving a 2023 Western Star. He told police he “lost his brakes” and was unable to stop in time, resulting in the vehicle striking a 2025 Western Star driven by Robert M. Deibert Jr., 59.

Police said the striking vehicle had disabling damages while the other Western Star had functional damages.
