Slatington Baptist Church

The Slatington Baptist Church will hold its 30th annual Free Clothing Days in August.

The church is looking for donations of good, clean clothing and shoes, in all sizes, for this ministry.

Clothing for school-age children and clothing for men and women in size 2x, 3x and larger are especially needed.

They will also take sheets, blankets, towels, purses, and backpacks.

The clothing goes directly to people in need in the community. The church does not sell the clothing nor asks for monetary donations.

Drop off donations from 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Aug. 3 or 4 at the Slatington Baptist Church, 509 Main St., Slatington, or call 610-767-6276 to make other arrangements.

The distribution schedule is as follows:

• Aug. 5: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Aug. 6: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., distributing ladies clothing only;

• Aug. 11 and 12: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Aug. 13: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., all clothing and household items will be distributed.

Clothing in good condition for men, ladies, children and infants in many sizes and some household items will be available for you to choose from for free.

Please bring bags to put your clothing in and, if possible, leave small children at home during opening hours, when it is the busiest.

Vacation Bible School

Slatington Baptist Church will hold Vacation Bible School from 6 to 8 p.m. on July 19 to 23. This year’s theme is “Illumination, Shining a Light on who Jesus really is.”

Each night begins with a free meal. Following the meal, there will be singing, learning a Bible lesson, making crafts and playing games. Each day concludes with a dessert.

There are classes for all ages, nursery through adults.

All food is free, and there will be a free will offering that will go to the NL Food Bank. The Slatington Baptist Church is located at 509 Main St. in Slatington.
