Coaldale Borough Secretary Kim Gavornik noted that sewer transmission bills are due.

As of this past week, 334 property owners had not paid.

Gavornik noted that property owners have six weeks after the due date to pay the bills before their water is shut off.

“We don’t want to shut the water off, so please, to avoid any additional costs, get up here and get that bill paid by Aug. 17,” she said.

If water is shut off, property owners face late penalty fees along with costs to have their water shut off and reconnected.

The borough put the policy in place in 2024 and saw successful results.

Trash collection bills are due by Aug. 31. Gavornik noted that those who are having trouble affording the bills may contact the borough hall to set up a payment plan.

“We’re very happy to help,” she said.
