Lansford Mayor Denise Leibensperger presented a proclamation to borough council for display on Lansford’s 150th Anniversary.
The proclamation celebrates the borough’s perseverance, community spirit and progress in marking the century and half milestone.
“Lansford’s rich heritage was built through the hard work, sacrifice and determination of generations of miners, factory workers, business owners, first responders, veterans, educator, public servants, volunteers, and families’ whole contributions shaped our community,” Leibensperger said.
Lansford people demonstrated resilience in the face of challenges and preserved the traditions, values and pride that define the borough, she wrote.
“The milestone celebration provides an opportunity to honor our past, celebrate our present and inspire future generations to continue building a vibrant and prosperous Lansford,” Leibensperger said.
The mayor concluded the proclamation by encouraging all residents, businesses, community organizations and visitors to join in celebrating the milestone and community’s enduring spirit.
Leibensperger presented the proclamation during council’s meeting Wednesday night and passed the document around for all in attendance to see.
