A Toledo, Ohio, man pulled over for speeding on Interstate 80 in Kidder Township was in possession of a large quantity of drugs, police said.
According to state police at Fern Ridge, troopers stopped a vehicle driven by Brandon Moore, 37, around 8:49 a.m. July 3 for speeding.
While speaking to Moore, troopers said they could smell “green” marijuana. Police said Moore told them that he had just picked up his “merchandise” in Brooklyn.
Sensing possible criminal activity, police asked Moore if he had any drugs or guns in his possession. Troopers said he admitted to having about 2 or 3 pounds of marijuana in the car.
Police said Moore consented to a search of the vehicle, and troopers found 3.5 pounds of marijuana, 64 packets of edibles containing THC, and 32 boxes of additional edibles with THC. Police said packaging material was in the vehicle, along with $615.
State police charged Moore with manufacture, delivery or possession with intent to manufacture or deliver; possession of a controlled substance; possession of a small amount of marijuana; possession of drug paraphernalia; and speeding and following too closely. He was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Beth Dodson and is free after posting $25,000 cash bail.
