A handful of nonprofit organizations have been approved for their yearly donations from Walnutport.

Borough council on Thursday unanimously agreed to release a total of $39,000 in yearly budgeted donations.

Before the vote, Councilwoman Patrice Hunsicker questioned whether all the paperwork had been received.

Diamond Fire Company receives the largest amount at $28,000, followed by Northern Valley Ambulance Association ($5,000), Slatington Public Library ($3,000), Diamond fire police ($2,000), and Walnutport Recreation Board ($1,000).

Councilwoman Jennifer Wentz pointed out that all the donations are in the borough’s budget.

The same organizations received the same donation amounts last year as this year.
