Quilt guild set to meet Friday in Palmerton

The Sew What Quilt Guild will host its monthly meeting on Friday at 10:30 a.m.

Local quilters and fabric arts enthusiasts are invited to attend. The gathering takes place in the upstairs Gallery at the Palmerton Area Library.

The event kicks off with a brief business meeting. It is followed by a potluck picnic, a “Show ‘N Tell” session for recent projects, and planning for the upcoming Carbon County Fair display.

Attendees should bring a covered dish to share and their own drink.

The guild is also collecting travel-size toiletries (such as those from hotel stays). Donations can be brought to the meeting or dropped off at the library.

During the meeting, the guild will celebrate the winners of the Quilt Block Contest. All winners received gift certificates to Papa Al’s.

Members are asked to bring a slip of paper with an unusual, hidden fact about themselves for a “Surprise Me” icebreaker.

• Guild Apparel: Orders are being taken for embroidered shirts and custom embroidered logo bib aprons. Sizes should be submitted to MJ.
