The Monroe County commissioners approved the following items last week:

• Change payment of $5,900 to $6,700 to Read & Associates for geologist services at new well at Monroe County Correctional Facility.

• Request for Proposals for Drug and Alcohol and Counseling Services at MCCF opened on June 18: Pennsylvania Treatment and Healing, Year 1, $92,500; not applicable for Year 2 and 3; PsychPlus Associates of New Jersey LLC, Year 1, $162,000; Year 2, $169,290; and Year 3, $176,908. The total is $508,198. Pyramid did not follow bid requirements.

• Area Agency on Aging — Contract for Professional Services with Melissa Lear, RN, from July 1 to June 30, 2027, limit of $10,000 with a paid retainer of $500; ratify submittal of the 2022-2027 Agreement with Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture for the distribution of farmer market vouchers, which are worth $5 this year.

• Children and Youth Services — Purchase of Service Agreements with Dynamic Counseling Associates, limit of $20,000, for individual and family counseling services, from July 1, 2024, to June 30, 2026; Justice Works Youth Care, limit of $1,000,000, for in-home intervention services, family group decision and supervised visitation services, and Pinebrook Family Answers, limit of $50,000, for foster care services, both from July 1, 2026, to June 30, 2027.

• Professional Services Agreement with Deano Graham/Love Light Consulting LLC, limit $33,000, from July 1 to Dec. 31, for treatment court.

• Additional vendors to the County List of Approved Vendors: District Attorney — Abigail Medina.

• Use of Opioid Grants from the Opioid Settlement Funds: Synchronicity Recovery, $100,000 for countywide support initiative; Guardian Angel Recovery House, $60,000 for recovery house rental assistance; Nehemiah Sober Living Inc., $4,750 for recovery house rental assistance and transportation.

• District Attorney — Execute the Local Law Enforcement Grant Monroe County DA 2026, totaling $250,000, from the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board for 2026.

• Pennsylvania Commission on Crime Delinquency 2026 Medicated Assisted Substance Abuse Treatment Grant Program, April 1 to March 31, 2028, $133,017;

• 2026-2027 Homeless Assistance Program and the Human Services Development Fund sub-recipient allocations as recommended by the Community Services administrative board as follows: HAP Allocation 2026-2027 — Pocono Area Transitional Housing for bridge housing services, $12,736; Salvation Army, $12,736, and Safe Monroe, $12,736, both for emergency shelter services; Resources for Human Development for case management, $6,444; and Family Promise of the Poconos Emergency Shelter, $12,736; HSDF Allocation 2026-2027 — CMP MH/DS for adult services, $48,000; Sights for Hope for generic services, $10,157, and Pocono Services for Families & Children for children and youth, $26,000.

• Information Technology and Services — Ratify agreement with Norstar Networks, $6,600, for phone system migration.

• Planning Commission — Consulting Services Agreements with UTRS for boundary surveys for agricultural conservation easements: Lands of Matthew Gould, $7,300; lands of Lynn and Kristen Rudelitch, $5,900; and lands of Gorden and Diane Rudelitch, $5,000.
