State police investigated a crash Friday in Mahanoy Township.

Matthew P. Honus, 44, of Mahanoy City, and Gage J. Maley, 24, of Saint Clair, were treated after a two-vehicle crash at 10:37 a.m. July 3 on Route 54 in Mahanoy Township.

Police said Honus was transported by personnel from the Ryan Township Emergency & Rescue Squad to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Pottsville, while Maley did not require an emergency medical services transport from the scene.

They said Honus was driving a 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee, while Maley was operating a 2016 Chevrolet Impala when the vehicles collided at the intersection on Route 54 (Vulcan Hill) with the Morea Road.

Police said Honus was cited for a stop sign violation while Maley was cited for a vehicle door violation.

A passenger with Maley, Tiffaney L. Hubler, 23, of Millersburg, was uninjured, police said.
