Two homes on the 200 block of West Catawissa Street in Nesquehoning that were damaged by a fire on Christmas were demolished Monday. The borough said last month that escrow accounts for the demolition had been set up with the homeowners and insurance companies. The blaze affected four structures. The other two homes, which include the main structure where the fire began, remain standing at this time, but borough officials said the homeowner of the home where the fire originated plans to move forward with demolition as soon as possible.
