State police at Lehighton - crashes

State police at the Lehighton barracks reported the following crashes:

• Police responded to a two-vehicle crash at 1:44 p.m. June 20 at the intersection of Koch Road and Pohopoco Drive, Towamensing Township.

They said a 2025 Dodge Ram traveling north on Koch Road failed to stop at the stop sign and entered the intersection where it struck a 2012 GMC Acadia that was westbound on Pohopoco Drive.

Police did not provide the names of the drivers but said the GMC was operated by a female who had four juvenile female passengers with her. They said she and the passengers were transported by emergency medical services personnel to the St. Luke’s Hospital, Carbon Campus, Franklin Township, to be treated for minor injuries.

They said the driver of the Dodge was cited for a stop sign violation.

• Charles P. Carr, 64, of Stroudsburg, was uninjured in a one-vehicle crash at 8:44 a.m. June 27 on Interchange Road, Towamensing Township.

Police said he was driving a 1998 Dodge Ram northbound while towing a trailing unit. They said the vehicle left the roadway, causing the trailing unit to strike a ditch and detach from the Ram, coming to rest on the side of the northbound lane.

Police said the Ram had functional damages but was able to be driven from the scene. The trailing unit had disabling damages and had to be towed from the scene.

Police said Carr was cited after the crash.
