The Summit Hill Borough Council voted last night to establish new names for roads in its rural section, as part of an effort by the U.S. Postal Service to have the White Bear area made part of the Summit Hill postal area.

The move comes after the residents of those areas voted 58-38 to eliminate the Lehighton R.2 designation currently in place.

As a result, the Lentz Trail area will become East White Bear Drive; those living on the other side of Rt. 902 will carry an address of West White Bear Drive; the areas known as Bugzie’s Road on top of the mountain will now be North and South Mountain Top roads; and Route 902 will carry the name Laurel Drive Highway.
