Woman charged with assaulting man, damaging house

An Albrightsville woman is facing charges after allegedly assaulting a man and damaging his Lake Harmony home.

Police said officers responded around 4:15 p.m. on June 18 to a home in the 500 block of North Lake Drive for a reported physical altercation. Carbon County dispatchers told officers a man reported that Krystal Fiorito, 44, was inside his home breaking items and was not permitted to be there.

When officers arrived, they found the home’s glass storm door shattered and the front door partially open. Inside, they found Fiorito, who appeared out of breath, had been crying and had blood on her hands.

The victim later told police Fiorito came to his house after a phone conversation, despite being told she was not welcome. He said she continued knocking, then broke the storm door glass and entered the residence.

According to police, the argument became physical when Fiorito allegedly struck the man in the face, causing visible bruising.

The man told Fiorito he was calling police and repeatedly ordered her to leave before leaving the residence himself to call 911.

Fiorito is charged with burglary, simple assault, defiant trespass and harassment.

She was released on $50,000 unsecured bail and is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on July 1 before District Judge Joseph D. Homanko Sr. in Weatherly.
