The driver of a sport utility vehicle was injured Monday morning when he drove his vehicle into The Little Sunshines daycare center in Port Carbon. The accident occurred just before 8:30 a.m. as he was reportedly driving south on Route 209 and lost control. His car entered the right berm impacting with and going through an exterior wall of the structure. The victim had to be extracted from the wreckage by area firefighters before being transported to an area trauma center. None of the children or staff members were injured.
