State police at Frackville - crashes
State police at the Frackville barracks reported the following crashes:
• Brandon T. Corbett, 22, of Drums, and Laura L. O’Boyle, 19, of Beaver Meadows, were injured in a one-vehicle crash at 3:23 a.m. June 2 on Interstate 81 in Ryan Township.
Police said Corbett was transported by personnel from the Schuylkill EMS corps to the Lehigh Valley Hospital-East, Pottsville for minor injuries.
They said the severity of O’Boyle’s injuries is unknown. She was taken to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest, Salisbury Township, by responders from the Frackville Community Ambulance Association.
Police said Corbett was driving a 2015 Infiniti Q40, with O’Boyle as his passenger, when he fell asleep while traveling north. The Infiniti crossed onto the left shoulder of the road where it struck a guide rail and overturned, coming to rest on top of the railing.
Police said Corbett was able to get out of the vehicle, while O’Boyle had to be freed from the wreckage by fire department personnel.
Corbett was cited after the crash, according to police.
• Francisco Tavarez Medina, 65, of West Hazleton, was uninjured when the 2024 Ford Transit he was driving struck a deer on Interstate 81 in Ryan Township.
It occurred when he was southbound on the highway at 7:55 a.m. June 9.
The vehicle was towed from the scene.
• Bruce B. Behr, 68, of Tamaqua, was cited for driving with an expired license after a two-vehicle crash at 7:34 p.m. June 16 at the intersection of Catawissa and Valley roads, Walker Township, police said. No one was injured in the incident.
Police said he was driving a 2014 Nissan Altima south on Catawissa Road when it hit a 2024 Ford Bronco that was stationary in the southbound lane and operated by Brittany M. Wehr, 36, of Tamaqua.
Police said the Altima had disabling damage and was towed from the scene. The Bronco had minor damage.
Three boys, an 8-year-old and two 5-year-olds, who were passengers with Wehr were all secured safely in child safely seats, police said.
• Brandon M. Williams, 23 of Middletown, had minor injuries in a two-vehicle crash at 7:07 a.m. June 20 on Interstate 81 in Delano Township.
Police said he was transported by personnel from the Ryan Township Emergency & Rescue Squad to the Lehigh Valley Hospital-East, Pottsville.
They said he was driving a 2007 Saturn Aura southbound when he fell asleep. They said the car swerved into the right lane and struck a 2025 Freightliner Cascadia driven by Adam F. Saint, 37, of Pennington Gap, Virginia.
Police said the Saturn was towed from the scene.
Williams was cited after the crash, according to police.
