Field Day
The Tamaqua Wireless Association will hold its annual Field Day exercises beginning at noon Saturday from the Owl Creek Reservoir.
Participants set up temporary transmitting stations to demonstrate ham radio’s science and service to communities.
Refreshments will be available at the rain-or-shine event.

Zion Lewistown
Zion Men will meet at Memorial Hall at 8 a.m. Saturday.
Pastor Jim Williams will officiate the 10:30 a.m. Sunday service at Zion Church in Lewistown Valley. The adult Sunday school meets at 9:30 a.m.
A movie, “Soul on Fire,” will be shown at 2 p.m. Sunday in the social hall.
St. Peter’s - West Penn
The Sunday worship service at St. Peter’s Church in West Penn is at 8 a.m. Adult Sunday school is at 10:15 a.m.
The 9 a.m. July 5 service will have the Sacrament of Holy Communion.
Tamaqua Seniors
The Tamaqua Senior Citizens met on June 18 with 22 members present. Two members were added to the sick list.
An auction will be held on July 23 featuring $10 gift certificates.
The seniors meet at 1 p.m. Thursdays from the Coaldale Complex.
Calvary Lewistown
Pastor Debra Rogers will bring a message centered on Psalms and the Lord’s goodness at the 11 a.m. Sunday service at Calvary Evangelical Church in the Lewistown Valley. There will be special music. Sunday school is at 9:45 a.m.
There will be no Sunday evening service so that members can attend meetings at the Auburn camp, Third Street, Auburn.
Vacation Bible school will be held at Valley Tabernacle, which is sponsored by Calvary and Zion church of the Lewistown Valley. It is held from 6 to 8:15 p.m. for ages two and three and pre-K through 6 completed. For information and registration, call 570-952-1678.
