Cheerleader with roots in Carbon representing USA
RJ Blisard, son of Robert and Jamie Blisard of Hudson, Florida, continues to make his family and community proud through his accomplishments in competitive cheerleading.
Blisard, whose family has deep roots in Carbon County, was recently selected as a member of the USA Junior National Coed Cheerleading Team. In April, the Junior Coed Team captured a gold medal at the 2026 ICU Junior World Championship finals held in Orlando, Florida.
Blisard will once again represent the United States when the squad travels to Mexico City, Mexico, in September to compete on the international stage at The Pan American Championships.
The athlete, who will enter his senior year at Hudson High School, is also a member of the school’s Varsity Coed Cheer Team, where he is known for his dedication, leadership and commitment to his teammates. His cheerleading journey has already taken him across the globe, including a trip to Shijiazhuang, China, and includes being part of the undefeated 2025 team that earned the “Triple Crown” — winning gold at States, Nationals and Worlds — a first in the school’s history
He is the grandson of the late Ronald and MaryRuth Blisard of Nesquehoning, Steve and Teresa Hunadi of Lehighton, and nephew to Ron and Karen Blisard of Lake Hauto. The Blisard family remains closely connected to their Carbon County roots, where many friends and relatives continue to follow RJ’s success with pride.
As he prepares for competition in Mexico City, family, friends and supporters from both Florida and Pennsylvania are cheering him on as he continues to represent his school, community and country.
