State police at Fern Ridge - crashes

State police at the Fern Ridge barracks reported the following crashes:

• Sean Williams, 39, of Blakeslee, was injured in a one-vehicle crash at 7:51 p.m. June 11 at the intersection of Burger Hollow and Merwinsburg roads, Chestnuthill Township.

Police said he was transported by personnel from the Lehigh Valley Health Network EMS corps to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Pocono Campus, East Stroudsburg.

Police said he was driving a 2003 Chevrolet Trail Blazer east on Burger Hollow Road when he became distracted and the vehicle approached the intersection too fast to safely stop. They said the vehicle went through the stop sign, crossed both lanes of Merwinsburg Road and hit an embankment. The vehicle was towed from the scene.

Williams was cited for careless driving, according to police.

• Dennis J. Egan, 71, of Brodheadsville, was cited after a one-vehicle crash at 2:01 p.m. June 13 on Route 209 in Chestnuthill Township, police said.

He was uninjured and refused a medical services transport after the crash, according to police.

They said he was driving a 2015 Ford Focus south when it traveled onto a small median and struck a one-way sign, becoming disabled.

• Six people were transported by personnel from the Lehigh Valley Health Network EMS corps to the St. Luke’s Hospital, Carbon Campus, Franklin Township, after a two-vehicle crash at 7:10 p.m. June 11 at the intersection of Route 903 and Weiler Road, Penn Forest Township.

Police said they included Roxanne A. Miranda, 28, of Saylorsburg, the driver of one of the vehicles, and two passengers, Quentin A. Zapata, 29, of Albrightsville, and a 3-year-old boy from Saylorsburg.

Also taken to the hospital, police said, were Lori R. Cooper, 61, of Albrightsville, and Bruce D. Bisbing, 61, of Palmerton, who were passengers in a car driven by Kristen M. Strohl, 35, of Walnutport, who was uninjured.

Police said the crash occurred as Miranda was driving a 2016 Nissan on Weiler Road when it proceeded left onto Route 903 in front of a 2025 Ford Econoline driven by Strohl, causing the collision. Police said both vehicles had disabling damage and were towed from the scene.

Miranda was cited after the crash, according to police.

• Police responded to a collision at 1:02 p.m. June 5 on Route 209 in Chestnuthill Township.

They said a 2018 Hyundai Elantra traveling east failed to maintain a proper following distance and hit the back of a 2017 Honda Civic. Both vehicles had minor damage. No one was injured.

Police said the driver of the Elantra was cited for following too closely.

They did not identify the drivers of the vehicles.

• Brian L. Berger, 61, of Blakeslee, was cited for failure to drive at a safe speed after a two-vehicle crash at the Exit 277 ramp of Interstate 80 in Kidder Township at 4:49 p.m. June 8. No one was hurt in the incident.

Police said Berger was driving a 2005 Acura TL that hit the back of a 2011 Toyota Tundra driven by Ronald J. O’Leary Jr., 36, of Kunkletown, who was stopped at a red light.

• A 16-year-old boy from Blakeslee was injured when he crashed a go-cart he was driving at 5:09 p.m. May 31 on Vista Drive, Chestnuthill Township.

Police said he was transported by personnel from the West End Ambulance Service to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Pocono Campus, East Stroudsburg. They said the severity of his injuries is unknown.

Police said he was driving the go-cart southbound on Vista Drive and traveling too fast for safety purposes when he lost control of the vehicle, which traveled onto the south shoulder of the road and overturned.

Police said the go-cart was able to be driven from the scene.

The teen was cited after the crash, according to police.

• A 27-year-old Albrightsville man is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol following a two-vehicle crash at 3:33 p.m. May 23 at the intersection of the Jonas and Merwinsburg roads, Chestnuthill Township.

Police said it involved a 2022 Chevrolet and a 2023 Mitsubishi.

They did not provide any other details of the incident.

• No one was hurt in a two-vehicle crash at 6:16 p.m. June 14 at the intersection of Sugar Hollow Road and Hawk Terrace in Chestnuthill Township.

Police said the crash occurred as Joshua A. Tomlinson, 32, of Stroudsburg, was driving a 2015 Nissan Altima south on Hawk Terrace when he failed to yield the right of way, proceeding onto Sugar Hollow Road and striking a 2017 Ford Escape driven by Thomas Allen, 66, of Kunkletown, that was westbound on Sugar Hollow Road.

Police said the Altima had minor damage, while the Escape had disabling damages and was towed from the scene.

Each vehicle had a passenger.

Tomlinson was cited after the crash, according to police.
