MONROE crashes

State police at the Stroudsburg barracks reported the following crashes:

• Cristalyn Cruz, 37, of Henryville, was cited for following too closely after a two-vehicle crash at 5:56 p.m. May 20 on Route 209 in Hamilton Township.

Police said she was driving a 2010 Honda CRV northbound when it struck a 2015 Acura MDX operated in the same direction by Joan M. Montano Meran, 38, of Saylorsburg. They said the Honda had disabling damage and was towed from the scene, while the Acura was able to be driven from it.

Police said Cruz was transported by personnel from the Lehigh Valley Health network EMS corps to the St. Luke’s Hospital, Monroe Campus, to be treated for suspected minor injuries.

Montano Meran and three passengers in the Acura, including a 5-year-old girl in a child safety seat, were uninjured, according to police.

• Two vehicles were damaged in a crash at 1:42 p.m. May 4 on Route 33 in Hamilton Township.

The crash occurred when the driver of a 2016 Nissan Altima traveling south braked without reason, resulting in a 2025 Isuzu truck operated by Pedro Salazar-Moore, 63, of Clifton, New Jersey, striking the Altima.

Police said the Altima’s driver continued southbound without exchanging information with Salazar-Moore.
