The Slatington Police Department has responded recently to multiple reports of vehicle break-ins and thefts from motor vehicles throughout the borough.

In every reported incident, the vehicle had been left unlocked.

Police remind people:

• Always lock your vehicle when it is unattended.

• Never leave your keys inside your vehicle, even if they are hidden.

• Remove valuables from your vehicle or keep them out of sight.

• Be aware of your surroundings.

• Report suspicious activity immediately.

Thieves often target vehicles that are easy to access, especially when valuables are visible inside.
