State police at Frackville
State police at the Frackville barracks reported the following incidents:
• Police are investigating a burglary that occurred between 3:41 p.m. May 23 and 2 p.m. June 4 at a property on West Main Street, Rush Township.
They said a 35-year-old Tamaqua man reported multiple pieces of lawn care equipment and tools were taken from a shed on his property.
Items stolen were a riding lawn mower valued at $2,267.34, a lawn mower and a hedge trimmer, each valued at $300, hand tools, garbage cans, a vertical drill press and other items with a total value of about $635.
• Police said a suspect in a 2023 corruption of minors incident that took place in Coaldale has been identified and that investigation is continuing.
They said the case involves a 16-year-old Coaldale girl in an incident that took place on East Phillips Street.
• Police received a report of a suspected child abuse/neglect involving an 8-year-old girl from Sugarloaf from the Pennsylvania ChildLine Hotline.
The report indicates the incident dates back to May 27, 2019, and occurred on Tuscarora Park Road, Rush Township. An investigation is ongoing.
• Police are investigating the theft of about 30 to 40 feet of telecommunications wiring that was cut and taken off utility poles in the area of Barnesville Drive and Grier Avenue, Rush Township.
The theft occurred between 6:24 p.m. June 4 and 1:07 p.m. June 5.
The victim is Frontier Communications.
• A 28-year-old Ashland woman was charged with corruption of minors after police were called to Centre Street, Ashland. The victim is listed as a 15-year-old girl from Mahanoy City.
Police said a sex offense investigation for incidents occurring between April 20 and July 5, 2025, led to the charges.
