Local Roundup: Results from June 17

Chase Llewellyn struck out 12 batters and allowed just three hits over 6 1/3 innings as Franklin Township rolled to a 7-0 Senior Connie Mack victory over Hellertown Wednesday.

A stellar pitching performance by Chase Llewellyn helped Franklin Township blank Hellertown 7-0 on the diamond.

Llewellyn went six and a third innings on the bump, as the FT starting pitcher struck out a dozen and walked three in a three-hit shutout win. Luke Haydt pitched no-hit ball in two-thirds of an inning in relief.

Brock Atwood chipped in with a three-hit day at the plate, as the locals’ No. 5 hitter connected for three singles, scored a run and drove in two.

Northern Valley-

FBTAA/North Bethlehem

Northern Valley jumped out early, but FBTAA/North Bethlehem answered right back and never looked back on its way to a 16-2 five-inning victory.

Jacob Spatz got things going for the Chargers in the first with a double and later scored on a wild pitch. Brandon Gonzalez, who was hit by a pitch earlier, scored the final run on a double steal.

Evan Miller added the lone other hit for the locals with a single in the second inning.

Sebastian Santiago paced FBTAA/North Bethlehem, as the No. 2 hitter finished with two singles and scored three runs.

Teammate Jayden Froehlich contributed a single, scored twice and drove in three runs.

Silver Creek-Saylorsburg

A nine-run fourth inning proved to be the difference, as Silver Creek bested Saylorsburg 12-1.

It was a one-run ballgame until the bats got going for Silver Creek in the fourth. The visitors made the most of five hits — all singles — along with three errors and two walks to build a comfortable lead midway through the game.

Saylorsburg totaled six hits, with two coming in each of the first and fifth innings.

Carter Knight recorded the Saylors’ first hit with a double, while Parker Ahner followed with a single in the opening inning. Meanwhile, Harrison Betz and Alexander Newell hit back-to-back singles in the fifth.

Jackson Butler led the way for Silver Creek, as he collected two singles, scored three runs and drove in three.
