Weatherly student wins Chromebook
Weatherly Middle School student Tyler Nelson won a new Chromebook in the Carbon County Investing Challenge, sponsored by Brighter Financial Futures and Mauch Chunk Trust Company, to teach students how to budget and invest money.
Marty McGuire, MCT senior vice president, director of marketing, and marketing specialist Tyler Smarr from Mauch Chunk Trust Company gave Tyler his Chromebook at Weatherly because he was the top student in Carbon County in the investing challenge.
On the school level, in the Investing Challenge Ismael Almanzar won second place and earned a $40 gift card. Mikayla Kuntz was second with a $30 gift card.
In the budget challenge, Forrest Clark won fifth in the state and fifth in Carbon County. He received a $100 gift card. In Weatherly, Elsie Gower received a $40 gift card for second place and Stephen Delman earned a $30 gift card for third place.
