State police at Fogelsville - crashes

State police at the Fogelsville barracks reported the following crashes:

• No one was injured in a two-vehicle crash at 7:16 a.m. on April 27 at the intersection of Old Route 22 and New Smithville Road, Weisenberg Township.

Police said the crash occurred as Ashley Shukla, 23, of New Tripoli, was operating a 2020 Ford Fusion south on New Smithville Road when she failed to stop at a stop sign and attempted to cross Old Route 22, striking a 2006 Nissan Pathfinder operated by Katana L. Stopp, 21, of New Ringgold.

Shukla was cited after the crash, according to police.

• Nicholas D. Shoudt, 32, of Whitehall, and Connor W. Barz, 33, of New Tripoli, had suspected minor injuries after a two-vehicle crash at 9:39 p.m. on May 4 at the intersection of Werleys Corner and Holbens Valley roads, Weisenberg Township.

Police said they were transported by personnel from the Cetronia Ambulance Corps to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest Campus, Salisbury Township.

They said the crash occurred as Shoudt was driving a 1999 Acura south on Werleys Corner Road when he failed to stop for a stop sign at the intersection and struck a 2018 Tesla driven west on Holbens Valley Road by Barz. The Acura then hit a stop sign on the left side of the road and came to rest in a grassy area.

Police said both vehicles had disabling damages and were towed from the scene.

Shoudt was cited after the crash, according to police.

• Debra J. Galgon, 72, of Whitehall, was cited after a one-vehicle crash at 2:39 p.m. on May 18 on Weidasville Road, Lowhill Township.

Police said it is unknown whether or not she and a passenger, Paul P., Galgon Jr., 75, also of Whitehall, were injured.

They said she was southbound in a 2016 Dodge Caravan when the minivan exited the road, traveled down a short embankment and hit a utility pole.

Police said the Caravan was driven from the crash scene to a nearby parking lot.

• Stephen Groff, 84, of Kempton, had suspected minor injuries after a one-vehicle crash at 6:43 p.m. on May 19 on Holbens Valley Road, Weisenberg Township.

Police said he was transported by personnel from the Cetronia Ambulance Corps to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest Campus, Salisbury Township.

They said he was driving a 2010 Toyota Prius westbound when he suffered a medical episode. The car left its lane of travel while negotiating a curve in the road, went out of control and hit a boulder.

The Prius was towed from the scene.

Groff was cited after the crash, according to police.

• Jarrod N. Burgess, 56, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Adeleke Oluwatayo, 51, of Memory, Texas, had suspected minor injuries after a one-vehicle crash at 5:43 a.m. on May 20 on Route 309 in Lynn Township.

Police said they were transported by personnel from the Cetronia Ambulance Corps to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest Campus, Salisbury Township.

Police said the crash occurred when Burgess was driving a 2023 International Harvester, in which Oluwatayo was a passenger. It was northbound when it began to veer off the road, striking rumble strips, at which time it traveled off the roadway and struck large boulders on the right shoulder.

The rig was towed from the scene.

Burgess was cited after the crash, according to police.
