June 3, 1984 — Palmerton receives an outstanding pitching performance and receives timely hitting to gain a 7-1 Lehigh Valley Legion victory over the Downtown Youth Center of Allentown (DYC). Dave Sayuk tosses all seven innings for the winners and allows just two hits and a fourth-inning run. The winners only collect five hits in the contest, but one is a two-run single by Scott Hillegas in the third. Chris Blynn adds a pinch-hit single in the sixth that drives in two more runs. Palmerton’s Greg Serfass and Stew Beers each contribute by scoring a pair of runs.
